YOUR MODEM AND DEVICES
- Many WiFi-related issues can be traced back to your modem. Restarting your modem
every few weeks will help it perform at its best. When restarting, unplug and re-plug it
according to its instruction manual. - Your modem is the gateway to the internet, so it should be centrally located in your
home. If possible:- Place your modem on an elevated surface at least 1.5 meters off the ground and
away from large furniture and appliances. - Avoid placing your modem near sources of cold air and heat.
- Turn off and unplug electronic devices and metal appliances close to your modem
when they are not in use - Sit close to your modem and open doors throughout the house to avoid
interference as thick walls and ceilings limit modem performance.

- Turn off internet-enabled devices and applications when they are not in use to help
others work at higher speeds. - Look into getting WiFi extenders for your home to increase your modem’s reach
- Connect your devices directly to your modem or WiFi extender with an ethernet cable
for a boost if you notice connection issues when gaming or video streaming.
